C.A.F.E. Practices

C.A.F.E. (Coffee and Farmer Equity) Practices is a program for coffee suppliers developed by Starbucks to ensure that coffee sources are produced sustainably by verifying the economic, social, and environmental aspects of coffee production against a set of evaluation criteria. 

BIOCert, as a registered verification body, is authorized to verify prospective suppliers/operators. Selected producers, processors, and suppliers are evaluated against the criteria contained in the “C.A.F.E. Practices Generic Scorecard” and the “C.A.F.E. Practices Smallholder Scorecard.” C.A.F.E. Practices requires that all entities in the supply chain undergo evaluation against the economic, social, and environmental criteria established in the program.
